When a horse is uncomfortable in their mouth, they are prone to resisting the rider’s hand, tossing their head, or evading contact entirely. The Original Bit Butter™ is an innovative, professional-grade mouth softening complex designed to soothe delicate oral tissue, prevent painful bit-chafing, and encourage an eager, relaxed acceptance of the bridle.

Formulated from a proprietary blend of all-natural, food-grade ingredients, this luxurious salve acts as both a protective lubricant and a deep conditioning treatment. A soothing base of natural mango and shea butters combined with vitamin E and jojoba oil replenishes dry, calloused skin at the corners of the lips. By creating a slick, smooth surface, it drastically reduces the friction generated by jointed rings, sweet-iron mouthpieces, and cheekpieces—effectively preventing the raw, painful rubs that lead to long-term bit resistance.

Beyond its physical protective properties, Bit Butter™ features a delicious, mouth-watering flavor profile that horses find completely irresistible. When applied right before bridling, the sweet taste immediately triggers a positive psychological response, stimulating salivation and promoting a soft, wet, and foam-rich mouth. Safe, non-toxic, and legal for use across all major competitive disciplines, this conditioning balm is a vital tack-room staple for young horses starting their training, sensitive mounts, or any horse recovering from minor mouth abrasions.
