ovation-loop-gag-cheek-piece
Loop Gag Cheek Piece

When negotiating fast, technical lines over stadium jumps or open cross-country terrain, split-second timing is everything. The Ovation® Loop Gag Cheek Pieces provide the lightning-fast bit action and instantaneous release required to re-balance strong, forward, or downward-leaning horses. By replacing traditional leather sliders with an ultra-smooth, tightly braided cord core, this rope gag assembly minimizes internal friction against the bit hardware, ensuring your rein signals are felt with total clarity.

The defining feature of this set is its durable, marine-grade white nylon cord center. This rounded rope core is engineered to glide effortlessly through the integrated holes of standard gag bits. When you engage your reins, the cord pulls upward with zero lag, elevating the bit mouthpiece in the horse's mouth while applying a simultaneously stabilizing downward poll-pressure signal. The moment you soften your fingers, the slick nylon surface drops instantly, rewarding your horse immediately for yielding and preventing any residual bit pressure.

To maintain structural durability and a cohesive look with your fine English tack, the top and bottom terminations are finished with hand-crafted, rich bridle leather. The top leather ends feature heavy-duty stainless steel adjustment buckles that attach directly to your bridle crownpiece. The bottom ends feature solid, mirror-polished steel loops to anchor your reins securely. Tough, responsive, and reliable, these rope loop gag cheeks are an indispensable asset for jumpers and eventers needing specialized elevator leverage.
