Maximize the safety, mechanics, and efficiency of your full cheek snaffle with the Camelot® Leather Bit Loops (commonly referred to as bit keepers). While a full cheek snaffle bit provides excellent lateral guiding properties, using it without keepers can be a significant hazard. Without loops, the long upper shanks of the bit can tilt freely outward, potentially snagging on blankets, training rings, or arena jump mesh. Additionally, an unsecured upper shank allows the mouthpiece to sag forward in the mouth, dulling your rein signals.
Camelot® Bit Loops solve this by anchoring the upper shanks of the bit directly to your bridle’s cheekpieces. Crafted from select, smooth English-style leather, these loops attach cleanly around the cheekpieces via heavy-duty snaps or stud closures. The lower loop end slips directly over the top bar of the full cheek bit.
By holding the upper shank flush and parallel against the horse's face, these loops slightly point the mouthpiece downward and backward into the optimal position over the bars of the mouth. This alignment introduces a subtle, highly effective poll pressure when you engage the reins, clarifying steering and preventing the mouthpiece from pinching or twisting awkwardly against the palate.
