If you have ever struggled to stretch a traditional solid rubber ring over a massive bit cheek, the Equi-Essentials® Neoprene Bit Guards will be a total game-changer for your tack room. Traditional pull-on guards require immense hand strength, hot water, or specialized tools to install, making them highly inconvenient to swap between bridles. Equi-Essentials® completely eliminates this hassle by engineering a thick, protective bit guard featuring a clever, open-slit design secured by a heavy-duty hook-and-loop (Velcro) strap.
Instead of traditional rubber or gel, these guards are constructed from premium, dense closed-cell neoprene. Neoprene naturally offers an exceptionally soft, pillowy texture against the horse's skin while remaining highly resistant to compression. This makes them incredibly effective at absorbing impact and stopping loose-ring snaffles from pinching the sensitive corners of the lips. The fabric texture is also entirely non-chafing, making it an excellent choice for thin-skinned horses that easily develop raw rubs or bald spots from rubber friction.
The open-backed architecture allows you to simply wrap the guard directly around the mouthpiece and press the industrial-strength Velcro strap closed. You can install or remove them in under five seconds without unbuckling your reins or taking the bit off the cheekpieces. Highly durable and easy to maintain, they resist absorbing moisture or sweat and can be thrown directly into a wash bucket to clean away arena grime.
